To begin with this recipe, we must first prepare a few ingredients. You can cook ugba and abacha using 9 ingredients and 9 steps. Here is how you cook that.

The ingredients needed to make Ugba and Abacha:
  1. Get 1/2 kg Ugba
  2. Get 1/2 kg Dry Abacha
  3. Prepare 3 cksp Palmoil
  4. Take 1/2 teaspoon Potash
  5. Make ready Salt
  6. Get 4 Fresh pepper
  7. Get 1 ck Crayfish
  8. Take 2 Onion
  9. Get 3 Maggi cubes

I also used Ugba and garden egg in the preparation. Abacha and Ugba also known as African salad is a Cassava based dish from the Igbo tribe of Eastern Nigeria. Abacha is simply dried shredded Cassava while Ugba on the other hand is fermented African. Abacha, as the Igbo love to call it, is one of the most popular evening deserts in the East.

  1. Soak dry abacha with warm water.
  2. Soak potash with 2 teaspoon of water.
  3. Chop onion,Pepper and set aside.
  4. Pour in palmoil in a pot,add potash and stir.
  5. Mix very well it will turn yellow.
  6. Sieve out the water from the abacha and pour in with ugba.add Maggi,Pepper,Crayfish and salt.
  7. Stir and taste if little or more ingredients needs to be added.
  8. Place on heat but lower the heat.simmer for 4mins.
  9. Put off the heat and enjoy the meal.

Abacha is an easy no cook delicacy made in Nigeria. All you need is palmoil, potash/baking soda or ashes and some You can make abacha stand alone but most times it is combined with some Ugba.
